Amazon Nova Forge Advances With New Models and Tools

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has unveiled a major update to its AI portfolio, expanding the Amazon Nova Forge platform with new foundation models and adding a new agent tool service, Nova Act. The move gives enterprises a streamlined path to build, customize, and deploy powerful AI models tailored to their data and tasks.

Under the upgrade, the Nova line now includes the next-generation model family Amazon Nova 2 Lite and Amazon Nova 2 Pro alongside more advanced variants such as Amazon Nova 2 Omni and Amazon Nova 2 Sonic.

These models support reasoning, multimodal inputs (text, images, video, speech), and large context windows, enabling developers to handle everything from basic automation and customer support to complex, multi-step reasoning tasks.

Nova Forge itself has been enhanced to allow customers to build their own “frontier models” by blending proprietary data with Amazon-curated training data during pre-training, mid-training, or fine-tuning stages.

Enterprises can also apply Reinforcement Fine-Tuning (RFT) using reward functions from their own environments, and configure safety guardrails via the built-in responsible-AI toolkit. Once trained, models can be deployed securely using Amazon Bedrock or via Amazon SageMaker AI.

In addition, Nova Act an agent framework designed for building reliable browser-based automation workflows is now part of the Nova ecosystem. Early users reportedly achieve high reliability for tasks such as UI automation, enabling agents that can perform actions rather than only respond with text.

This initiative arrives at a time when many organizations face steep technical and financial barriers to building custom AI models from scratch. By providing early checkpoints, managed infrastructure, and guided training recipes, Nova Forge aims to make frontier-class models more accessible and cost-effective for businesses with domain-specific needs.

The implications could be significant. Enterprises in sectors such as manufacturing, legal, healthcare, and content moderation may now develop models tuned to their unique datasets, improving accuracy and relevance compared to generic systems.

Meanwhile, Nova Act’s automation capabilities could streamline business workflows and reduce manual effort. The bundled safety tools also reflect AWS’s attempt to address AI risk, compliance, and governance.

Amazon Nova Forge’s expansion and the introduction of Nova Act mark a new phase in enterprise-focused AI, one that emphasizes customization, control, and operational readiness. For businesses looking to harness AI tailored to their needs, this could represent a transformative opportunity. For more daily AI news updates, visit ainewstoday.org
